Kanye West Produces Something New For Louis Vuitton
The self-proclaimed “Louis Vuitton Don” may be living up to his title. The fashion forward Kanye West has revealed to Women’s Wear Daily that he’s teaming up with Louis Vuitton to do a shoe line. West announced the partnership with the LVMH-owned high-end brand at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 menswear show in Paris’ Jardins de Bagatelle.
The rapper/producer’s partnership with Louis Vuitton should come as no surprise to his fans. Earlier this year, West performed at the opening of an exhibit by artist Takashi Murakami at the Brooklyn Museum. Louis Vuitton has incorporated Murakami’s work in various accessories. The rapper also celebrated his 30th birthday party at the Louis Vuitton flagship store in New York City last year.
West, who has been in Paris for the city’s Fashion Week shows, has been working on the final touches of his new shoe line called Kanye for LV. The first half of the line will be for women and is due out Fall 2008.
