Jay-Z Resurrecting The Palladium

Jay-Z will play the first show at the newly renovated Palladium in Los Angeles on October 15th. The legendary venue — which initially opened its doors in 1940 with a Frank Sinatra concert — has been closed for more than a year for repairs. Hova, who’ll be backed by a 12-piece band, tells the Los Angeles Times, “I’m honored to play such an iconic venue. Just as Frank ushered in a golden era, I hope this opening will mark the beginning of a resurgence in generation-defining live music.” Over the years, the Palladium has also hosted the likes of Public Enemy, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and No Doubt.
