Okay, I could understand if you were a model first and it would be more artistic, but then again as a music artist it could also be more artistic then just what was shot for the magazine. It gets to a point where I get tired of hearing young artist that now are 20 some years old and claim their older and they are coming into their adulthood, and then appear nude on a cover. What does that represent as being an adult? Ciara became an artist strongly for her dancing and really brought dancing back to music, to a degree. Artist claim they are not role models, but in fact you are. You have young girl’s that look at you and love your artistry, and now you present them with nudity. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fashion designer myself and a beautiful African-American woman, but I just don’t understand why we have continued as woman to expose ourselves in our prime (20’s) or so and think that it is all good. You leave your future husband or whoever with no imagination of you, and you have allowed “society” to think that this is “all to the good”! Yes, we have many great’s of the past that have expressed nudity as an artist…but I also feel that our community in today’s society is receiving a false reality of who we can be as people and thinking there are only certain ways we can get there in order to achieve our successes. It’s hard becoming or probably being an artist in the main industry…and yes it takes work,,trust I know… But at the same time my success is going to be achieved by the gifts GOD placed upon my hands, knowing my WORTH and the knowledge that I have received, receiving a degree. I wish that once these Artist, especially African-Americans, reach their height of success they would then turn and really challenge themselves and obtain a degree, go to College, and really obtain knowledge within their artistry, as well as, knowledge of thought and higher achievements through educational development. These artist these days are setting a bad example for the youth generation now. What they do does have some reflection on the kids and the occupations they feel they can get into fast and eventaully lose themselves from what “society” or record labels tell them what will sell. I’ve enjoyed Ciara as an artist but I have lost respect for her as a Black woman. She could have done an artistic air-brush form of nudity and made it more eloquent then what was showcased in the magazine. She now just appears as one of those flava of Love girls willing to show it all and it have no purpose. -Not judging, just stating what appears through my eyes as an artist/model/poet/designer
